Instrumentation and Control Engineering
This concentration focuses on the development, implementation, and management of instrumentation systems used to measure and control physical variables in various industrial processes related to control and automation systems including the design, analysis, and implementation of complex systems to operate independently or with minimal human supervision and intervention, using control theory, sensors and instrumentation, actuators, and advanced algorithms. Knowledge that students will gain by taking this concentration: • Knowledge and mastery related to sensors and transducers, calibration and data acquisition • Feedback Control, Feedforward Control, Adaptive Control, Robust Control • Mastery of Key Aspects of Autonomous Systems: Sensing, perception, decision making, action and learning & adaptation Fields of work related to this concentration are Instrument and control engineer, Robotic and automation developers, Aerospace engineer, Automotive engineer.
