Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) carried by the course

CPMK CodeCourse Learning Outcomes Elements (CLO)
CPMK 1Students understand how geological and geophysical surveys in the field are carried out.
CPMK 2Students master the concepts of exploration, planning, surface geological observation, geological mapping, survey implementation and data processing and interpretation.
CPMK 3Students practice seismic refraction, gravity, magnetics, geoelectricity, Ground Penetrating Radar in the field.

Learning Method

  • Class lecture Lecturer teaches students in class. There will be quizzes, assignments, or homework in some classes. Lecturers present lecture material using media such as slides on LCD projectors and whiteboards. Presentation Students present course material in front of the class using slides on an LCD projector, followed by a discussion session. After the presentation, they make a report on what they presented previously. Tutorial session The lecturer gave several problems to the students beforehand. In class students explain how to solve problems in groups. The lecturer checks how they solve the problem in turn. Class projects and discussions Lecturers give students a project related to current issues and lecture material. Supervision and consultation This activity is a continuation of the class project. Students consult with the problems they face and discuss together how to solve the problems. Practical or experimental laboratory work Students carry out practical or experimental work in the laboratory according to the practical module. First, the laboratory assistant tells the practical or experimental main idea. They did practice afterwards. Field visit Visit field areas or companies related to the course material.

Learning Modality

  • Field excursions, geological mapping, appropriate software geophysical measurements, exercises, etc.

Assessment Methods

  • Geological Mapping 30% Geophysical Measurements 30% Final report 40%
